|||Acne - Acne Scars and Their Treatment
The unsightly appearance of acne lesions or pimples isn%26#039;t the only potential problem with the disease, unfortunately. In some cases, it%26#039;s possible for acne to leave permanent scars.
Some conditions may appear to be scars that are not. Macules and other bumps can occur even after acne is treated. Redness may persist for up to a year. But these aren%26#039;t true scars. They%26#039;re not permanent.
True scars are a permanent change to skin tissue produced by the healing process itself, chiefly creating fibrous tissue. As white blood cells attack bacteria they can produce changes in underlying skin cells in the surrounding area. This is one way scars become permanent.
They may also not be limited to areas under the surface.
So-called icepick scars are small pinholes that form in the surface of the skin. They look as if the skin has been poked with an icepick, hence the name. They%26#039;re typically too deep to be treated with simple dermabrasion or even laser resurfacing.
Boxcar scars are similar, except they tend to be flatter on the bottom, rather than narrowing to a point like icepick scars. Since they%26#039;re often shallower they can sometimes be treated with resurfacing techniques.
Keloid scars are firm and grow beyond the site of the injury. They%26#039;re characterized by an excess production of collagen. They often result in a shiny pink or red scar.
Prevention is the best option, of course. But when that%26#039;s not possible, there are a number of standard treatments.|||ive been through acne like a lot of teenagers.
at first, i used the cheaper face washes you can buy in supermarkets. that didint work. then i used a bunch of natural products, which didnt work either. later, i tried clinique and clarins, no luck. after that, i tried proactive and other treatments. that only worked temporarily.
the best solution is to go to a dermatologist. i dont know why people dont go there automatically. he will prescribe exactly what you need, for exactly your type of skin. if your acne is bad, he will give you pills. and after the acne is gone, he will make sure it never comes back and also give you a scaring cream. its really the only thing that helps! |||I have suffered acne for since I was 11 years old, and the only thing that works is applying Neutrogena%26#039;s On the Spot Acne Treatment. I would just wash my face, gently pat dry my face, and apply a thin layer of the application. If you have a slightly to very oily skin, do not bother putting any moisturizer. I takes a short time (1 to 3 months) for your skin to make a big difference. My skin improved within 3 weeks.
|||my mom took me to a friend/doctor she knows and got a prescription. so far, its been working great. so i would recommend asking a doctor what would be best for you.|||Two prescription acne creams - and along with that, also the birth control pill. I cannot believe how well they worked. |||Well I have a neutrogena kit thats a lot cheaper than the proactive kit and it works really well for me.|||BUY THE ZENO!
