I tried Proactiv for about 6 months and it didn%26#039;t work. Anyone else have a good product?|||I also did the Proactive thing and it made it even worse.
I am a true believer of Murad Acne facial line. It worked immediately and still works after a year! I have not had this clear of skin since I was like 9 years old!
I bought mine at Sephora but have also seen it at UTLA.|||The products you are using, are they salycic acid or benzolyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Almost all washes have it. They try finding a face lotion with it in it. Clean and clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face. I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working!
Personally, Proactive didn%26#039;t work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salysic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying fo rme! Good luck!|||the same thing happened to me. what i did was i switched off proactive for a week or so and just used generic face wash ( go to acne.org they tell you what to do) and i just followed their regimine for a week or so and then i switched back to proactive and it cleared my face up again.|||It really depends on your skin type. I hear that Murad does work. If you have breakouts, try a cleanser that is also a moisturizer. Moisturizing does not create more breakouts, it prevents them!
First, I would get a facial done professionally. It can do wonders and can restore your skin.
Personally I use St. Ives apricot scrub, or St. Ives moisturizing cream cleanser. Try not to use the scrub that much, because sometimes it will just reopen the blemish because it has exfoilant beads.
Also, you might want to try a toner, like Witch hazel (also considered an astringent). Sally%26#039;s beauty supply sells a big bottle of it for 4 dollars. It is not abrasive or anything. You will notice a difference as well.
Phisoderm works really well too. I used that when I was an adolescent.|||Check out Continuously Clear products by Seriesse! They work on all skin types and combine the best FDA approved medications - Salicylic Acid (cleanser) and Benzoyl Peroxide (daytime treatment) - with natural ingredients known for their soothing and hydrating properties. You can order the products individually, but the best deal is the 5 piece set that includes an oral skin supplement called Clear Skin that helps address the internal stressors that wreak havoc on your skin. Watch the short before and after 30 day video diary of a fellow acne sufferer on www.myseriesse.com/sbruck and see what you think. Good-luck.|||There are many skin care lines that treat acne. Your decision on which one to use is depended upon whether or not you are using a product that requires a prescription (i.e. Retin A or Renova). If you are using a prescription cream, your physician has probably told you to use Cetaphil. The prescription cream dries the skin and using another anti-acne product will irritate and/or inflame your skin. Cetaphil is a gentle cleanser that does not clog pores.
If you aren鈥檛 using a prescription cream there are a lot to choose from. Some to try are Clearasil and Neutrogena (available at the drug store), Clinique (available at department stores) and Avon (available from an Avon Representative or on line at Avon.com). Typically, there are at least three products you need to use each time you cleanse your face: a cleanser, a toner (or astringent) and a moisturizer. DON鈥橳 skip the moisturizer. Follow you skin care routine twice a day.
There are some things you can do to improve your skin and get the most out of the products you are using. Do not use the same wash cloth twice. After you use a wash cloth one time it is wet. A wet wash cloth breeds bacteria which causes blemishes. It is also best to use a towel only one time. It is a lot of work to use a clean wash cloth and towel. You can purchase 10 or more inexpensive wash cloths. You can use a wash cloth to dry your skin as well. White wash cloths are best because you can wash them in hot water with bleach. To reduce the number of wash cloths you need, wash your hands then wash your face using your cleanser with your hands. Dry with a clean wash cloth or towel. Another option is to use paper towels (plain white is best) to wash and dry your face. If you use paper towel, be gentle and blot your face dry.
Also, keep wet (or cleansing) wipes with you to use during the day when your skin gets dirty or oily. Clearasil has an Oil Control Cleansing Wipe. There are many different brands available at the drug store. (It is OK to use cleansing wipes that say they are for make-up removal. They aren鈥檛 any different than other wet wipes, but you might want to hide them from your friends)!|||I tried Proactiv for about a year and it didnt work for me either. Now I use Murad, and it works really good!!
